 "Batton said that because school was already out of session when the incident was reported, officers had to go to the students' homes to investigate.The student will not be charged because "Maryland law requires someone to be at least seven years old before they can be criminally responsible for their actions," Batton said.Baltimore County Public Schools could not provide additional information or comment on the situation Monday.In the letter to parents, Martin stressed the community's role in keeping the school and its children safe."As with this case, it is important for all of us-students and parents alike-to inform school staff or police any time you or your child sees, hears, or reads anything that is suspicious or that may pose a threat to the school or its students," Martin wrote.
